Privacy

Privacy-first mikvah search, review, and support.

Mikvah Finder is designed to avoid collecting more personal data than the product needs. Location, contribution, donation, and claim data are handled with explicit retention, role-based access, and audit controls.

Location data

Search and directions work with the least precise location needed for the task. Account privacy settings can limit precise sharing, round locations to a neighborhood grid, disable Mapbox search history, and turn off static previews.

When you open walking directions, Mikvah Finder uses your location only for that route request unless your settings allow history. Stored recently viewed location records expire according to your retention setting.

Account and contribution data

Account data is used for sign-in, saved listings, notifications, family accounts, donations, claims, submissions, reports, and audit trails. Contribution records keep provenance so operators and reviewers can understand what changed and why.

Rabbinic, curator, operator, and admin review surfaces expose only the information needed for the review role. Sensitive claim evidence, private contact details, and family data are not shown on public listing pages.

Provider processing

Mapbox powers geocoding, map tiles, directions, and static map imagery. Postmark sends email. Payment processors handle donation payment data. Push providers deliver opted-in browser notifications.

Provider calls are wrapped by server-side clients where possible, include privacy-aware request shaping, and fail closed when required credentials or signatures are missing.

Analytics and logs

Analytics and operational metrics are privacy-safe by default. Account settings include analytics and crash-report opt-outs. Location diagnostics used for support investigations are capped to a 7-day diagnostic budget unless a shorter account retention setting applies.

Security, audit, webhook, and job logs are retained for abuse prevention, payment integrity, compliance, and operational recovery.

Your controls

The account settings area includes profile updates, notification controls, privacy settings, data export, and deletion request flows. Donation, audit, and compliance records may be retained where required by law or platform integrity rules.

For privacy help, contact support with the email attached to your account and the specific record or workflow involved.

Privacy requests

Use the export and deletion controls in account settings when you can sign in. If you cannot access your account, email support@tbye.org.
